No, Rebound 911 is a nonpartisan organization and operates independently of any political affiliations or union collective bargaining activities.
While we are happy to provide presentations or training upon request, our involvement is limited strictly to the scope of our services. Our primary focus is serving department leadership and field personnel through direct support and education.
At its core, trauma-informed means shifting from asking: “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”
This approach is guided by five key principles:
Safety – Ensuring physical and emotional safety for everyone involved.
Trustworthiness & Transparency – Building trust through clear, consistent communication.
Peer Support – Valuing lived experience and mutual support.
Collaboration & Mutuality – Emphasizing shared power and decision-making.
Empowerment, Voice, & Choice – Prioritizing individual strengths and encouraging autonomy.
It also includes cultural, historical, and gender awareness, recognizing how different experiences shape trauma and healing.
Why Use a Trauma-Informed Approach?
Improves outcomes: Especially in healthcare, education, and public safety, it helps professionals engage more effectively with those who have experienced trauma.
Builds trust and connection: Particularly important when working with vulnerable populations like first responders, survivors, or youth.
Reduces harm: Prevents re-traumatization and promotes emotional and psychological safety.
Strengthens organizations: Encourages healthier workplace culture, reduces burnout, and improves communication.
